Despite a Siena poll that had Republican candidate Sean Hanna with a solid lead over Democrat Ted O’Brien for retiring State Senator Jim Alesi‘s Rochester-based seat, insiders on both sides are apparently giving Mr. O’Brien a serious chance come Election Day.

While Queens Senator Joe Addabbo, locked in one of the tightest reelection battles in New York State thanks to the Republicans gerrymandering his seat to make him more vulnerable, is apparently leaning towards opposing gay marriage again after voting for it in 2011 and against it in 2009.
