
Storobin Solidifies Republican Support: Gets Brooklyn GOP Chairman's Backing
David Storobin, the likely Republican candidate in the special election to replace former State Senator Carl Kruger, has all but assured himself the nomination today as Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton officially endorsed him. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced yesterday that the special election will be taking place March 20th. “He will remove the stain of disgrace left by Carl Kruger and the Democrats,” Chairman Eaton announced, connecting the Democratic Party to Mr. Kruger, resigned upon pleading guilty to federal corruption charges.
In New York special elections, there are no primaries for the parties to select their nominees. Instead, the county parties, like Mr. Eaton’s Brooklyn GOP, get to select their candidates. Councilman Lew Fidler is believed to have already locked up the necessary support in the Kings County Democratic Party to secure the Democratic line in the race. Read More
