Council Speaker Christine Quinn sent a strongly-worded letter to Cablevision CEO James Dolan today telling him that she supports the efforts of workers in the Bronx affiliate of his company to unionize.

I am writing to express my strong support for efforts by Cablevision technicians in the Bronx to organize by joining the Communications Workers of America (CWA).

These hardworking technicians, who have helped Cablevision remain one of the most successful cable television companies in the nation, simply want to have a voice in the workplace.

While I recognize the truly tough economic times that we are in, it’s important that these technicians be able to exercise their right to organize and collectively bargain. Read More
