
Bloomberg, Quinn Tout Sharp Decrease in Smoking Rates Among New Yorkers
Perhaps banning smoking everywhere has in fact had some impact.
Today Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Council Speaker Christine Quinn released new numbers which show that only 14 percent of New Yorkers still smoke, an all-time low.
According to the mayor, there are 450,000 fewer smokers in New York City, with the sharpest drops coming among Staten Islanders and teens. Read More
