Mitt Romney Doesn’t Want To Discourage Michele Bachmann From Her Crusade Against Huma Abedin [Video]

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s efforts to tie Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the wife of former Congressman Anthony Weiner, to the Muslim Brotherhood have drawn rebukes from several of her fellow Republicans. Obama Campaign Spokeswoman: Team Romney ‘Has Officially Gone Off The Deep End’

On a Romney campaign press call this morning, former New Hampshire governor and White House chief of staff John Sununu said he wished President Barack Obama “would learn how to be an American.” Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith responded by releasing a statement saying Mr. Sununu’s “meltdown” was evidence Team Romney wants to “change the conversation” after the controversies over Mr. Romney’s offshore assets and his departure from Bain Capital.

“The Romney campaign has officially gone off the deep end. The question is what else they’ll pull to avoid answering serious questions about Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital and investments in foreign tax havens and offshore accounts,” Ms. Smith said. “This meltdown and over-the-top rhetoric won’t make things better- it only calls attention to how desperate they are to change the conversation.” Read More

In Times Square, GOP Primary Has Drugs Instead of Drama

Mitt Romney had already settled into his status as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee long before his five state primary sweep last night and his wide lead in Empire State polls made his victory in New York a foregone conclusion. Rudy Giuliani, Former Romney Holdout, Endorses GOP Nominee

The Mitt Romney campaign today announced that they have received the endorsement of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.

“I’m very proud to earn the support of such a distinguished leader and public servant to our country,” said Governor Romney. “Rudy’s successes in turning around New York City are well-known and his name is synonymous with leadership, uniting a city in the aftermath of the worst terrorist attack in our nation’s history. I look forward to his help in the months ahead as I work to restore America’s promise and reverse President Obama’s failed policies.” Read More

All Eyes On Ohio For Super Tuesday

With primaries occurring in ten states tonight, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich have each enjoyed victories on this Super Tuesday, but the most crucial contest, Ohio, is still too close to call. So far, Mr. Santorum won in Oklahoma and Tennessee. Mr. Romney, as expected, emerged victorious in Massachusetts, Vermont, and Virginia, where Mr. Santorum and Mr. Gingrich did not qualify to get on the ballot. Mr. Gingrich, who hasn’t had a primary victory since South Carolina in January, won his home state of Georgia.

“As it looks right now we’re going to get at least a couple of gold medals and a whole passel full of silver medals,” Mr. Santorum said to supporters at his Ohio campaign headquarters. Read More
