Joe Carvin Releases First TV Ad [Update]

Rye Town Supervisor Joe Carvin, a Republican hedge fund manager who has invested $1 million into his own campaign for congress, looks like he’s ready to start putting that money to work and announced his first television ad this morning. The commercial was described as a “sharp contrast ad” by the Carvin campaign, an accurate description as it both blasts incumbent Rep. Nita Lowey and praises Mr. Carvin.

Wendy Long Sneaks in Dig at ‘Jerry Springer Culture’

Attorney Wendy Long, campaigning for the Republican nomination to take on Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, blasted City Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott for backing a switch up of the songs at a kindergarten graduation, and in doing so, slipped in an attack on one of her rivals, Rep. “It seems that the New York City Schools Chancellor approves of replacing civic education with Jerry Springer-like popular culture,” Ms. Long declared in the statement. “This is a big problem in a country whose survival depends upon the success of self-government, of citizens who love this country and understand and defend it.” Read More

Since March 14th, the NRCC sent The Politicker no less than 13 press releases attacking the two Democrats on the issue with headlines such as “Bishop is Responsible for ObamaCare’s Broken Promises” and “With Obama in Hiding, Will Murphy Help House Dems Defend Government Healthcare Takeover?”

Most recently, the NRCC blasted out a statement connecting Mr. Murphy to the Supreme Court hearing oral arguments on a case against the bill today. Read More
