George Maziarz Talks Polish-American Politics

It’s Official: Cuomo Names Joe Lhota As Head of M.T.A.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office has just announced that former top Rudy Giuliani aide Joe Lhota will be the new head of the Metropolitan Transporation Authority.

“Joe Lhota brings one-of-a-kind managerial, government, and private sector experience to the job and a lifelong commitment to public service that will benefit all straphangers,” Mr. Cuomo said in a statement. “I look forward to working together as we continue to reform the MTA, reduce costs, and improve service for New Yorkers.”

The move has been rumored for several days, and after Gov. Cuomo appointed Patrick Foye to head the Port Authority yesterday, he has now taken full ownership of running two massive New York City based agencies. Read More
