CONCORD -- Congressional candidate Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro) said recent controversies involving one of his rival's campaign manager will not impact the outcome of the 2nd Congressional District Republican primary.

Late last month, Bosse accused Jennifer Horn's (R-Nashua) campaign manager, David Chesley, of threatening to release information about Bosse's father's legal problems in retaliation for Bosse filing a complaint against Horn with the Federal Election Commission.

Are primaries good for the GOP?

After the dust settles from the election the question will be asked whether or not competitive primaries, in both congressional districts, benefited the Republican Party.

Did the primaries help or hinder voter outreach? What if there are lingering harsh feelings? Should the candidates have used tougher words on U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) and U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) instead of on each other? These are just some of the "what if" questions that will be examined after November, especially if Republicans fail to gain a congressional seat.

"We ask our readers who live in NH's Congressional District to give Grant a very close look. If you feel that government should supply your every (or even most) need, he's not your guy," wrote Republican activist Skip Murphy. "If you believe that we owe all that we are and have to government, he's not your guy.  If you believe that government knows more than you do about taking care of your family, he's not your guy."
