So far, so good for N.H. Dems

DENVER-- Even though it is only the first day of the Democratic National Convention, New Hampshire Democratic Party staffers say there have not been any major problems so far.

David Scannell, New Hampshire Democratic Party executive director, and Mike Brunelle, New Hampshire Democratic Party political director, has been in Denver since the weekend ensuring delegates have a smooth convention.

Meet the Democratic delegates

With the Democratic National Convention kicking off in just eleven days, the state Democratic Party is doing its part to let Washingtonians know who their delegates are to the big show in Denver.

Today they unveiled a flickr page with photos of all of the delegates and superdelegates, icluding 64 Obama supporters, 26 Clinton supporters and 15 automatic delegates. Many of the photos are accompanied by a statement from the delegate on what the event means to them.

Jesus for VEEP

Today the Rocky introduced us to the delegates selected to attend the GOP convention in Minneapolis.  Many of the answers on who they'd like to see on a "Dream Ticket" alternated between McCain-Romney and McCain-Huckabee. But they really saved the best for last.

Obama PLEO delegates chosen

The seven Party Leader & Elected Official (PLEO) delegates pledged to Sen. Barack Obama at the Democratic were chosen Sunday. The group includes a wide range of elected officials from within the party with two state senators, a state representative, a mayor, county chair, county commissioner and even a precinct committee officer. RPK Convention: Resolution and delegate round-up

BOWLING GREEN -- Despite some particularly visible dissent on the convention floor on Saturday, Republican Party of Kentucky leadership was not abated from approving a package of nineteen resolutions and their favored slate of at-large delegates to the Republican National Convention.

One effort by a handful of Ron Paul delegates attempting to extract one resolution for debate was beaten back from the Chair on procedural grounds during Saturday's Kentucky Republican convention in Bowling Green. Otherwise, all the resolutions recommended by the convention's Resolutions Committee passed easily by voice vote.

Fuller Clark in political spotlight this weekend

This weekend state Sen. Martha Fuller Clark (D-Portsmouth) will be one of 30 people who could determine Sen. Hillary Clinton's (D-NY) fate.

Fuller Clark is a member of the Democratic National Committee Rules Committee that will meet this weekend to determine if the delegates from Florida and Michigan should be seated at the national convention.  The two states were stripped of their delegates because they voted before the date purposed by the DNC.

Two NH Edwards delegates back Obama

LEBANON -- Two New Hampshire delegates for John Edwards said this morning that when they go to the Democratic National Convention they will be voting for Barack Obama, PolitickerNH.com has learned.

State Sen. Peter Burling (D-Cornish) and Hanover activist Deborah Bacon-Nelson made the announcement this morning at Lebanon High School, where Bacon-Nelson is a teacher.

With his third-place finish in New Hampshire in January, Edwards secured four delegates in the Granite State. Nationwide he has 19 delegates.

Passion flows at the 3rd Congressional District caucus

NAPAVINE -

According to banners hanging from every streetlight in town, Napavine is Tiger Country. But Saturday afternoon the local high school gymnasium, where the Tigers play basketball Delegates seek support at Napavine High School/Politicker Photoevery winter, was also home to the 3rd Congressional District Democratic caucus. At the caucus, five delegates, two males and three females, would be elected to the Democratic National Convention in Denver this summer to elect the party's nominee.

But he delegate contest was not the day's only vote. With the advent of the state's "top two" primary that effectively ends the Party primary system, the Democrats' official nominee for Congress was also decided at the caucus. Rep. Brian Baird, the five term congressman from Vancouver, won his party's nomination by a vote of 59 to 24 over fellow Democrat Cheryl Crist.

Barack Obama has gained a New Hampshire convention delegate.

Joshua Denton, who was a district delegate for John Edwards, has decided to endorse Obama, The Associated Press is reporting.

All eyes will turn to NH Edwards delegates

Now that John Edwards has endorsed Barack Obama all eyes will turn to Edward’s delegates to see if they will follow suit.
