The Oregonian endorsed congressional candidate Kurt Schrader (D-Canby) in OR-5 Sunday, saying he was ready to serve Oregonians in Washington D.C.

Pelosi raising funds for Lord in Phoenix

PHOENIX -- U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is in Phoenix Monday to fundraise on behalf of Bob Lord, the Democratic candidate for the 3rd Congressional District seat.

The visit was confirmed at a round table discussion Lord held with U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), who will also be in attendence. Details are few, but the Speaker will be appearing at the event, which will be held Monday evening to benefit Lord in his effort to unseat U.S. Rep. John Shadegg (R-Phoenix).

Wu, Blumenauer will not suspend campaigns

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) may have felt the need to leave the campaign trail and head back to Washington to deal with the financial crisis, but two Oregon congressman said they didn't need to put their campaigns on hold because they have already been fulfilling their legislative duties while running for re-election.
