Bradley, Stephen participate in fierce debate

OSSIPEE- A loose format allowed former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) and former Health and Human Services Commissioner John Stephen (R-Manchester) to participate in the fiercest debate this election cycle.

Bradley and Stephen were allowed to rebut each other and directly question one another Monday night at the debate sponsored by the Carroll County Republicans. The two touched upon issues ranging from energy to earmarks and the current situation in Georgia.

Bradley says Stephen helped raise property taxes

CONCORD-- Flanked by state reps and county commissioners former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) alleged that his primary opponent raised property taxes.

Bradley says that while he was head of Health and Human Services John Stephen (R-Manchester) shifted the cost of operation nursing homes onto counties which resulted in higher taxes for property owners. Stephen's campaign manager denies the charge by saying "facts are troubling things."

Poll shows residents unaware of budget problems; plurality favors legalized gambling

A poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire shows residents are largely unaware of the current budget problems facing the state.

According to the Granite State Poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, 17% said they have heard a lot about the state budget, 59% say they have heard a little and 23% said they have heard nothing at all.
