Live by the polls, die by the polls

Here is all the advice you need on polls taken months before the election, where there is absolutely no evidence that they will be reflective of the voters in November: IGNORE THEM!  Ignore them when they are good and ignore them when they are bad.  The temptation to embrace the good numbers will make it impossible to repel the bad numbers that appear later. The Allen campaign is seeing that play out this week.

Democrats pounce on Smith's ad for Iraq claims

When U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) released his new campaign video on Tuesday that featured praising statements on the incumbent lawmaker from Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, Smith's re-election rivals cried foul.

Wednesday, more Democrats started accusing Smith of trying to rewrite history.

Obama campaign appoints Rob Hill as state director

Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is gearing up for a war in Oregon, and on Wednesday it announced who will lead the charge.

Rob Hill has been named Oregon state director for the general election, in hopes that he will deliver Oregon for Obama the same way he delivered Oregon in 2004 when he was state director for Democratic presidential candidate and U.S Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.).
