Lynch to sign ‘Granny D’ bill

New Hampshire Governor John Lynch (D-Hopkinton) will sign the "Granny D" bill on Friday.

The bill creates a commission to study the feasibility of publicly funding state campaigns and is named after Doris "Granny D" Haddock who traveled across the country in 1999 advocating for public financing of elections.

The signing ceremony will take place at the Executive Council Chamber at 1:00pm in the State House.

Rudman honored at campaign finance event

MANCHESTER-Former New Hampshire Republican U.S. Sen. Warren Rudman was honored Tuesday night at an event sponsored by the group Americans for Campaign Reform.

Rudman was honored for his support of various campaign reform legislation and service to New Hampshire.

Before the event, guests were treated to a reception that included pictures of Rudman with various friends. One picture included Rudman, former New Hampshire Attorney General Tom Rath and current Supreme Court Justice David Souter.
