Sgambati remembers Obama’s ’04 speech

DENVER-- Hours before Barack Obama accepts the Democratic presidential nomination, state Sen. Kathy Sgambati (D-Tilton) said she knew Obama would someday run for higher elective office when she saw him deliver the keynote speech at the 2004 convention but she didn't think it would be so soon.

"I wasn't sure it'd be four years later, but clearly I thought he was articulate and he'd be a force in the future," Sgambati told PolitickerNH.com.

Sgambati focused on every town in re-election bid

LACONIA-- State Sen. Kathleen Sgambati (D-Tilton) was elected in 2006 with strong support from towns such as Tilton and Strafford and she hopes to repeat that strategy in her bid for re-election.

"I think I have to do well in all of them [towns]," Sgambati told PolitickerNH.com in an interview. "I won every town last time except for Alton and we're going to try and keep the numbers close and keep working to get the message out."

Sgambati to run for re-election

State Senator Kathy Sgambati (D-Tilton) has decided to run for re-election.

"The voters of District 4 trusted me to represent them and I have worked hard to honor that trust. I first ran for office to increase access to affordable health care, to protect New Hampshire's natural assets and to support small businesses," Sgambati said in a press release. "We have made substantial progress on all of these fronts."
