Garrett brings out last minute Giuliani endorsement

Not to be outdone by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s endorsement of Democrat Dennis Shulman, U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett (R-Wantage) today announced the support of Bloomberg’s predecessor, former Republican mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani.

And while Bloomberg’s endorsement of Shulman centered mostly around the gun control issue, Giuliani said he was backing Garrett because of his fiscal conservatism.

"I am pleased to endorse Scott Garrett today because we share the same fiscally conservative principles,” said Giuliani in a statement. Read more at Politickernj.com >

Giuliani returns to Ohio to campaign for McCain on Tuesday

Former New York City Mayor and Republican presidential contender Rudy Giuliani (R-N.Y.) is coming back to Ohio to campaign for Republican Presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

Giuliani has been in Ohio for McCain once already, blasting the change offered by presidential opponent Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) as "phony."

The McCain campaign announced that Giuliani will campaign for McCain and running mate Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) at rallies in Boardman and Warren, Ohio.

Rudy: Obama's change is 'phony'

LEWIS CENTER -- Rudy Giuliani mocked the idea that Barack Obama and Joe Biden are a change and instead argued that the men are orthodox Democrats.

Giuliani also called Obama the product of Chicago's political machine.

Giuliani spoke at a press conference at the Ohio Victory campaign’s grassroots leadership conference Saturday.

Giuliani blasts conservative doubters of Palin as ‘jerks’

LEWIS CENTER, Ohio -- Rudy Giuliani blasted prominent conservative columnists who have criticized Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin as being unqualified and even worthy of being removed from the GOP ticket. The former New York City mayor spoke at a press conference at the Ohio Victory campaign’s grassroots leadership conference Saturday. Giuliani was asked what he would say to columnists who’ve criticized John McCain’s selection of Palin, such as Kathleen Parker, George Will and David Frum. “I think they look like a bunch of jerks after the debate the other night,” Giuliani said. “I think they should all say they made a mistake.”

Giuliani swinging through Pa. today for Republican incumbents

Former New York Mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani is in Pennsylvania today to campaign for Republican incumbents in Congress.

Giuliani will join U.S. Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-West Pikeland) in a visit to software developer Analytical Graphics Inc. in Exton, Chester County. Gerlach is running against Democrat Bob Roggio in the 6th Congressional District.

He will also rally for U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Allentown) in Bethlehem. Dent is running against Democrat Sam Bennett in the 15th Congressional District.

Giuliani: Biased media ‘wants to count Sarah Palin out’

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said at an economic roundtable discussion that the media has been unfair to Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin. "The liberal media wants to count him [John McCain] out; the liberal media wants to count Sarah Palin out, the media wants to do more than count Sarah Palin out, I don't know what they want to do but it's probably illegal," Giuliani said. "The anger at her is some great commentary at how partisan the media has become."

Giuliani to raise money for Dent

Former New York mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani is coming to Pennsylvania to help out U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Allentown), The Morning Call reports.

Giuliani is scheduled to appear at a fundraiser for Dent Oct. 3.

Dent, who was an early supporter of Giuliani's bid for the Republican presidential nomination, faces Democrat Sam Bennett in the 15th Congressional District.

Douglas boosts Palin, McCain in speech to Mass. delegation

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Republican Gov. Jim Douglas addressed the Massachusetts delegation to the Republican National Convention Thursday, applauding the Wednesday night presentation given by vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and expressing optomism for the GOP's chance in November.

"(Palin) is going to bring a great deal of enthusiasm to the Republican team, and I am very optomistic about what the fall portends," Douglas said.
