Liberty convention attendees in Minneapolis hear Paul speak

In a speech that was part-political barnstormer, part-civics lesson, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) warned thousands of supporters at Minneapolis' Target Center Tuesday night that they may be losing their republic, but they could change the county together through the power of their ideas.

Though he spoke for more than an hour, Paul, a physician, relayed a simple diagnosis of the country's problems: the United States' government, corporations, and citizens have forgotten basic principles such as personal liberty, free speech, and self-determination. He spoke earnestly about the need to return to our country's basic Constitutional principles. His tone was more of an impassioned college professor than a revolutionary radical, and he mostly avoided direct attacks on his own political party.
