Weekly Standard parodies controversial New Yorker cover

Detroit News editorial cartoonist  Henry Payne has done a parody version of the controversial New Yorker cover which will appear on the back page of The Weekly Standard magazine's July 28 issue.

Obama slams Muslim portrayal on cover of the New Yorker

Barack Obama (D-Ill.) in a turban, fist-bumping his gun-slinging wife, as the American flag burns in the fireplace.

“The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create," Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement.
