Obama Campaign Blasts Romney With Big Bird Attack Ad

President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign has officially gone there.

In an ad released this morning, Mr. Obama takes Republican rival Mitt Romney to task for wanting to take the ax to Sesame Street‘s federal funding in a rather sarcastic fashion.

Marco Rubio Says Romney’s Comment About How ‘It Would Be Helpful To Be Latino’ Was ‘Just a Joke’

One of the most prominent Latinos in the Republican Party, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, addressed remarks about Latinos Mitt Romney was caught on tape making at a fundraiser during a press conference call today. The video of Mr. Romney sparked a massive firestorm after it was published by the liberal magazine Mother Jones, Mr. Rubio said he wasn’t bothered by the portion of the clip where the Republican presidential candidate said he would have a better chance of winning the election if he was Latino.

Charlie Rangel Calls Romney’s 47% Rant ‘Ridiculous,’ Untrue and Amoral

Congressman Charles Rangel is the latest Democrat to pile on Mitt Romney after Mother Jones released a blockbuster secret video of one of the Republican candidate’s fundraisers in which he characterized President Barack Obama’s supporters as the “forty seven percent of Americans” who “pay no income tax,” suggested he’d have an easier chance of winning the White House if he was Mexican and called peace between Israelis and Palestinians “almost unthinkable,” among other controversial remarks.

Mr. Rangel issued a statement slamming Mr. Romney’s comments this afternoon describing them as “ridiculous,” far from the truth and amoral considering Mr. Romney’s own income tax situation.   Read More

Pro-Romney Super PAC Launches Anti-Gay Marriage Ad to Snag Southern Swing State Votes

GASTONIA, NC — A super PAC with ties to evangelist leader Gary Bauer is trying frighten would-be Obama supporters in at least one Southern swing state by raising the specter of the President’s support for gay marriage. The “Campaign for American Values” has launched a pro-Mitt Romney television campaign with an ad warning viewers that ”Obama trying to force gay marriage on this country.”

In the commercial, which is entitled “New Morning,” a couple wakes up to coffee and the threat of legalized same sex marriage as they peruse the morning paper.

“Obama is trying to force gay marriage on this country. That’s not the change I voted for. Marriage is between a man and a woman. That’s not the change I voted for,” one of them says,

“That’s not the change I voted for either,” the other agrees.

The ad closes with a narrator advising the couple to ward off this potential onslaught of married gay couples by voting “for someone with values” as the words “VOTE ROMNEY/RYAN” appear on the screen.  Read More
