Bob Turner: Obama Must Think Israel Is an ‘Inconvenience’

Congressman Bob Turner may be on his way out of Washington, but he is still a sharp critic of President Barack Obama’s foreign policy when it comes to the Middle-East. The latest issue at hand? President Barack Obama reportedly declining to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this month, which Mr. Turner said shows “a true lack of leadership.”

“Less than a year has passed since President Obama made disparaging remarks about ‘having to deal’ with Prime Minister Netanyahu,” Mr. Turner said in a statement earlier today. “His decision to turn down Prime Minister Netanyahu’s meeting request shows just how much of an inconvenience it really is for the President. Grimm Calls On Obama To Apologize Over Hot Mic Netanyahu Remarks

Last night the French press reported that French president Nicholas Sarkozy and President Barack Obama were caught trashing Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu over a microphone that they didn’t realize was on.

As per CBS:

Netanyahu, I can’t stand him. He’s a liar,” Sarkozy reportedly told Mr. Obama, who did not object to Sarkozy’s assessment.

“You are sick of him, but I have to work with him every day,” Mr. Obama reportedly replied to Sarkozy ahead of a news conference.

This afternoon Staten Island Congressman Michael Grimm blasted Mr. Obama for the remarks and called on the president to apologize for the remarks. Read More
