Mayor Bill de Blasio’s foot-dragging on moving to Gracie Mansion prompted the hosts of Hot 97’s morning show to stage an intervention.

Mr. de Blasio called into the show this morning to chat charter schools, stop-and-frisk and House of Cards–but was also pressed on why he had yet to decamp from his Park Slope row house to the Upper East Side more than three months after his election. ‘Don’t Believe the Hype’: Bill de Blasio Insists He’s Not Out to Destroy Charter Schools

Mayor Bill de Blasio, appearing for the second time since taking office on the rollicking hip-hop station HOT 97, insisted he was not an enemy of charter schools this morning and skewered the press for its coverage of the controversy.

“I’m feeling like they’re making you look like you’re anti-charter school,” remarked one of the station’s morning show hosts, giving the mayor–whom they referred to as “our favorite mayor”–an opportunity to defend himself. ‘Sorry’: Mayor Does Not Support New Yorkers Buying Weed at Their Bodegas

Bill de Blasio, slammed by some conservative critics for his lefty policy aspirations, is not flying high on one particularly ambitious marijuana proposal.
