Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton defended her foreign policy record to a pro-Israel group in Manhattan tonight and advocated for a nuanced–but tough–approach to Iran as tensions in the Middle East remain high.

Bill de Blasio’s swearing-in event will feature two of the biggest names in Democratic politics: former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Gloria Steinem Sees Similarities in Quinn and Hillary’s Defeats

During the Democratic primary, feminist icon Gloria Steinem was one of failed mayoral candidate Christine Quinn’s biggest fans. But as Ms. Quinn’s chief rival, Bill de Blasio, prepares to take office, Ms. Steinem says she’s thrilled to welcome the incoming mayor following an election she said reminded her a lot of the 2008 presidential primary won by Barack Obama.

De Blasio’s Hillary Fund-Raiser Expected to Bring More Than $1 Million

Bill de Blasio’s fund-raiser tonight with Hillary Clinton is expected to bring in over $1 million for his mayoral campaign, according to a source with knowledge  of the the sum–and Mr. de Blasio couldn’t be more thrilled.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will host a fund-raiser for front-running mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio next month, his campaign announced this afternoon.

The former first lady and her husband, Bill Clinton, endorsed the Democrat last week in a joint statement.

Clintons Endorse Bill de Blasio

Bill and Hillary Clinton are officially backing Bill de Blasio for mayor.

In a joint statement issued by their respective spokesmen, the former president and secretary of state praised the expected Democratic nominee, saying they were “proud” of his primary campaign and “behind him” as he moves on to the general election against Republican Joe Lhota.
