Former Gov. David Paterson has an unusual take on the recent power plays between his successor and the new mayor.

In an interview on Geraldo Rivera’s 77 WABC Radio show this morning, Mr. Paterson argued that Gov. Andrew Cuomo was actually doing Mayor Bill de Blasio a favor when he offered to pay for universal pre-K using state money instead of endorsing Mr. de Blasio’s plan to raise taxes–and accused Mr. de Blasio of being “intellectually dishonest” in arguing a new tax was necessary to fund the programs. Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani has a theory for why the press has been so aggressively covering New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s “Bridgegate” scandal: presidential politics.

According to Mr. Giuliani, one of the few Republicans to defend Mr. Christie in the immediate aftermath of the scandal last week, media outlets like The New York Times have been ripping into Mr. Christie because he is “the only guy” that rivals Hillary Clinton in the 2016 race for the White House.trans Rudy Giuliani Says Press Is Hyping Bridgegate to Boost Hillary Clinton in 2016 Continue reading “Rudy Giuliani Says Press Is Hyping ‘Bridgegate’ to Boost Hillary Clinton in 2016”
