The Dallas Morning News is reporting that both Cornyn and Noriega are both hesitant to support the Wall Street bailout package. Although it remains to be seen if Cornyn will vote against it, he said he worries about the costs to taxpayers.
Noriega shares Cornyn's concerns, telling the Morning News that he is "outraged" taxpayers have to "clean up the mess made by greedy Wall Street investors and mortgage lenders."

At the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, Noriega attempted to drum up financial support for a race where he is badly being out fundraised. According to the Houston Chronicle, Noriega bashed Cornyn's support of President Bush's policies.
"Another day, another angry diatribe from Rick Noriega," said Kevin McLaughlin of of the Cornyn campaign.

Immigration and border security were at the center of a debate between Cornyn and Noriega on Thursday, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Cornyn is against a redeployment of the National Guard and a special path for illegal immigrants, while Noriega supports illegal immigrants paying a fine and passing a background check to secure citizenship.
