About the Race

Democratic U.S. Sen. Max Baucus is running for his sixth term. He faces Republican Bob Kelleher, whose biography section of the campaign website was still "under construction" in July. The small town lawyer, Kelleher also put his name on the New Hampshire presidential primary ballot in 1976.

The Associated Press is reporting that Kelleher thinks he can win the uphill battle against Baucus by using his millions of dollars as financial leverage in the contest.

Max Baucus raised another $900,000 in the second quarter bringing his total raised for this race to $10.9 million against an opponent who didn't raised even $5,000 in the first three months of the year and has yet to release numbers for the second three months.
