Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin will hold a rally on Oct. 4 at the Home Depot Center in the city of Carson, instead of in Orange County, as originally planned.
Republicans are offering V.I.P. tickets and preferred seating to any volunteer who makes 100 phone calls at a McCain campaign phone bank.
Despite the move to Carson, Orange County Republican Party officials remain optimistic that the event will produce a surge in volunteer support.
"Our volunteers are still enthused," said George Andrews, executive director of the county party. "The Home Depot Center is relatively close, so we've seen no letdown in terms of the number of volunteers."
