U.S. Rep.-elect Kurt Schrader (D-Canby) announced that outgoing U.S. Rep. Darlene Hooley’s district director, Suzanne Kunse, would stay on as his district director when he replaces Hooley in January.
Schrader’s leadership in Oregon and Washington, D.C. is now set. Last month, Schrader also announced that his campaign manager, Paul Gage, would serve as his chief of staff in the nation’s capitol. No word yet as to what will happen to Joan Evans, Hooley’s current chief of staff.
"Suzanne knows this district extremely well and has developed a great reputation and strong relationships with the people of Oregon's 5th district," Schrader said in a statement. "She played a key role in the excellent constituent service provided by Congresswoman Hooley, and I look forward to drawing on that experience as we continue to build on Darlene's legacy."
Kunse, who has been working for Hooley since 2000, served as co-district director from 2003 to 2005, and has been Hooley’s main district director since 2005.
