MSNBC has tabulated the fundraising totals for the presidential campaigns in the "battleground" counties -- those in which the Kerry/Bush vote was within 7 percent -- in the battleground states.
In 13 of 17 such counties in Ohio, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) attracted more campaign contributions than U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). But in 11 of 17 counties, McCain raised more money than Obama.
In total, Obama raised about $1.1 million from 7,100 contributions while McCain raised nearly $1 million from nearly 2,900 contributions.
In Hamilton County, Obama raised about $750,000 from 4,000 contributions and McCain raised about $570,000 from about 1,300 contributions.
