Catholic cash flows against I-1000

The Catholic Church is active in every anti-choice activity it can get its hands on, but given the controversies surrounding the abuse within the Church, perhaps, for once, they ought to keep their hands off.

Supporters of Initiative 1000, called the death with dignity or assisted suicide initiative, have long warned that the Catholic Church would be the primary financier behind the campaign against I-1000. A look at PDC reports show they are right.

With nearly unlimited money from passing the plate, and hordes stashed in the coffers in Rome, the Catholic Church is a formidable political opponent. Supporters of I-1000 point out that the Catholic Church has jumped into the campaign and provided the majority of the funding for the anti-choice forces in every other state that has considered death with dignity.

At the same time, Goldy and Lee at HorsesAss, and Carla at the NW Progressive Institute, have noticed that while the Catholic Church is busy funding political campaigns, they still have a few outstanding sexual abuse charges that they ought to be taking care of.

Sure, the Catholic Church is active in most every anti-choice activity it can get its hands on, but given the widespread controversies surrounding the abuse within the Church in the past few years, perhaps, for once, they ought to keep their hands off.
