Allard shuts down Senate website's contact page

Don't bother contacting U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard's Senate office anymore  - at least, not online.

With Congress adjourned for the year and the Loveland Republican retiring in a few months, the "contact" page on Allard's Senate website has been disabled, as first reported by the Colorado Independent.

"The United States Senate has effectively recessed for the remainder of the year, and will not be considering new legislative proposals," a statement posted on the contact page reads. "I am retiring, and so my Senate career has also ended. Accordingly, I feel that your thoughts and views on this matter would be best addressed to my successor. The benefit of hearing from constituents on legislative and governance issues should be extended to Colorado's newest Senator and not archived with me."
