The cease fire lasted but only a few days in the shootout between some conservative groups and the Ohio Republican Party’s Kevin DeWine.
Friday the Summit County Right to Life group emailed supporters urging them to email dozens of members of the GOP State Central Committee that will vote on whether Deputy Chairman DeWine should become chairman in December.
The group counters DeWine’s evaluation of why Republicans lost on Election Day, saying the GOP was defeated “not because of standing too strong on conservative values but because of being too WEAK on conservative values and trying to be more like the liberals, thus diluting their true message.”
The selection of Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate kept the election from being a “landslide for Obama” and Republicans were outspent and out communicated by Democrats, the email said.
It closed by arguing against DeWine’s election.
“Electing Kevin DeWine is nothing more than emphasizing the OLD in Grand Old Party.”
No one has publically stepped forward to challenge DeWine for chairman.
