Former Mayor Ed Koch will be released from the New York/Presbyterian Medical Center this morning at 9:45 a.m.

Could the Staten Island GOP wield the power in the Republican mayoral primary? Manhattan's party chairman doesn't sound like he will waver in his support for businessman John Catsimatidis while Brooklyn & the Bronx are firmly behind former Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrión. As the Queens GOP is partially employed by Mr. Catsimatidis and Mr. Carrión needs three chairmen to earn ballot status, the city's tiniest borough might have the crucial swing vote.

One can't help but admire Brooklyn D.A. Joe Hynes, who reportedly said "he plans to run for re-election in 2013, 2017 and in 2021. In other words he wants to retire well after his ninetieth birthday."

The New York Daily News boldly suggested Governor Andrew Cuomo go to war with the Independence Party's ballot status. The publication took particular offense with the party's deception-based voter enrollment strategy.

Mr. Cuomo's stance on global warming was cited in a New York Magazine feature on reasons to love New York. His placement joins Mayor Michael Bloomberg's support for gun control and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's location.

Sometimes when it comes to a point you want to make in a story, it comes down to three things: photo choice, photo choice and photo choice.

"Peggy Whitworth, from Cedar Rapids, was a delegate at the Democratic convention this year—as she was in 2008—and noted that unlike other 2016 hopefuls, Cuomo didn’t stop by the Iowa delegation. But she had no opinion of him, and said all she knew about the governor of New York was that he “lives with some silly woman who does cooking on television."
