Manhattan Media C.E.O. Tom Allon, an underdog candidate in the Democratic primary for mayor in 2013, is setting the bar high for his media availability tomorrow. In a mysterious press release sent out this afternoon, Mr. Allon's campaign vowed to make an announcement that will do no less than "change the Democratic Primary contest and the election for Mayor in 2013."

It's not immediately clear what Mr. Allon's announcement would entail, but last Friday marked the deadline for candidates to change their party registration for next year, and Mr. Allon--who toyed with the idea of running as a Republican in the past--did not respond to multiple inquiries as to whether he is still a Democrat. However, as Mr. Allon is polling at the back of the pack among the Democratic contenders, a party switch wouldn't necessarily be the promised game-changer. Of course, there are a multitude of other announcements possible from the unconventional politician.

View the press release below:

NYC Mayoral candidate Tom Allon will make an important announcement on Monday October 15th at 10AM that will change the Democratic Primary contest and the election for Mayor in 2013.

The statement and press briefing will be held at the Museum of Natural History at 200 Central Park West in front of the statue of Theodore Roosevelt.

The announcement will be followed by a Q and A and interviews with interested media.
