JCOPE won't look into Shelly Silver, and is confining their investigation to Vito Lopez. This is an odd move as Lopez has already been investigated by the Assembly and prosecutors are now evaluating the evidence.

Chuck Schumer would like the State Assembly to pass a resolution calling on Lopez to resign.

New York City is looking for ways to market its logos. As you can see on the left, the Daily News provided some suggestions.

The Albany Times Union endorsed Neil Breslin over Shawn Morse.

The Amsterdam News issued its endorsements for state legislative races, picking, among others, Ola Alabi, Rodneyse Bichotte, Brad Hoylman, and Guillermo Linares.

The Haitan Times profiled Bichotte.

John Messer has a tough mailer out against Toby Ann Stavisky.

Inbox: "Shame on Ulrich for Mocking Bob Dole."

Tony Herbert, hoping to unseat William Boyland, received a congressional endorsement:

"I am humbled to have received the endorsement of my former boss and a man I respect highly whom I have known since the age 15yrs old. I was honored to work for him back when and I am honored that he has chosen to endorse my candidacy. Thank You Congressman Edophus Towns."

Michael Grimm picked up a carpenter's union.

Grimm wasn't impressed with President Obama's speech.

While the Daily News looked at his speech in the context of the weak economy.

A columnist for the same publication tried to break down how voters will now proceed.

A Post columnist, meanwhile, characterized the overall convention in more simple terms: "Barack Obama lights candles, Mitt Romney spreads darkness, and Osama bin Laden is dead."

However, The New York Times thought Obama delivered a solid performance.

Jumaane Williams rather liked the speech, too.

Politico's Alexander Burns and Maggie Haberman provided their own conclusions, which, among other things, noted that Bill Clinton's speeech was better.

Governor Cuomo's speech was the strongest sign yet that he's running for President.

Cuomo said Obama's point about the election being a stark choice is "exactly right."

Cardinal Dolan closed the convention speech with a prayer, and gave a nod towards the abortion debate  at the same time.

John Kerry: "Ask Osama bin Laden if he's better off now than he was four years ago."

Joe Biden gave an impassioned speech as well.

Biden's actual address wavered from the text in parts:

SPEECH: That's what presidents do, or at least what they're supposed to do.

TEXT: I just don’t think he understood what saving the automobile industry meant -- to all of America

SPEECH: What I don't understand -- what I don't think he understood -- was what saving the automobile industry meant.
