Twenty-three candidates for City Council wrote a letter to Speaker Christine Quinn urging her to pass paid sick day legislation. Two additional Democratic candidates--Corey Johnson campaigning for Ms. Quinn's district and Costa Constantinides for Peter Vallone's--wrote their own letters backing the bill, which were a tad less aggressive in specifically taking Ms. Quinn to task. They can be viewed here and here.

"It's sad that the Mets have sort of fallen apart here," Mayor Michael Bloomberg lamented on John Gambling's show this morning.

Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney's campaign is thrilled with a Public Policy Polling survey showing them tied with GOP Rep. Nan Hayworth. “Tea Party Congresswoman Nan Hayworth voted to end Medicare and defund Planned Parenthood—and Hudson Valley voters aren’t happy about it,” Mr. Maloney's spokeswoman Evangeline George said in a statement. While PPP is one of the country's top pollsters, this particular sample seems to tilt a little Democratic. Voters indicated they supported President Barack Obama's presidential bid by 13% in 2008, while the district actually gave him a 5% lead four years ago.

Orthodox Pundit found another flaw in the alleged photographic evidence of voter fraud Lincoln Restler's supporters put out. The two voters in the same booth are apparently an elderly rabbi being physically helped by another man, which is legally allowed. Politicker's sources independently said the same thing about the photo yesterday.

We discussed Mr. Restler's situation in Hasidic Williamsburg as well as Frank Seddio's election and what it might mean for Brooklyn on the Brian Lehrer Show earlier today.

"A judge was supposed to rule on whether or not to revoke his bail Friday. Instead, he put off the decision for at least a week in order to give Espada's defense team one week to contest the latest accusations against him."
