Senator Kirsten Gillibrand continued to flex her fundraising muscles this quarter, raising $1.5 million in the last three months, which will leave her with $9.1 million on hand as she seeks reelection this year. Her campaign spending has been relatively light so far, as Ms. Gillibrand last reported having $8.3 million on hand.

In a press release this morning, Ms. Gillibrand's campaign also touted a recent poll showing her ahead of her Republican rivals.

"According to a new Quinnipiac University Poll released today, Senator Gillibrand’s approval rating has soared to 60%, her all-time high in the poll," it read. "The Quinnipiac poll, which follows a recent Siena Poll showing Gillibrand with her highest approval and lowest disapproval numbers by Siena in 8 months, gives the Senator a more than 2 to 1 lead over her three potential Republican challengers."

Her three potential Republican challengers are attorney Wendy Long, Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos, and Congressman Bob Turner.

Whoever wins will certainly have an uphill  battle against Ms. Gillibrand this November.
