Grimm receiving the Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association endorsement

Congressman Michael Grimm, who has been ferociously battling negative headlines since the start of the year, has been moving his campaign forward with a steady trickle of labor endorsements in recent weeks.

Earlier today, his campaign announced the endorsement Seafarers International Union (SIU) of North America, AFL-CIO, adding to endorsement he received from the Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association, exactly one week ago.

While these endorsements don't necessarily translate into significant boots on the ground, they do represent positive news stories in the Staten Island Advance, which is widely read in Mr. Grimm's district.

Additionally, Mr. Grimm's campaign teased a significant endorsement coming this Sunday. They kept the details close to the vest, but they told The Politicker the announcement is certain to be a "game-changer."

Only one Democrat, Mark Murphy, is currently in field and looks likely to be Mr. Grimm's opponent this November.
