Giuliani Mocks Obama As A ‘Weakling,’ Suggests It Is Time ‘To Bomb The Hell Out of Iran’ [Video]

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani appeared on “OutFront with Erin Burnett” yesterday and he was at his snarling best, mocking President Obama for his conduct towards Iran.

“We need leadership and I think President Obama has made this much more complicated by being such a weakling with regard to Iran,” Hizzoner said. “A month ago he writes a letter to the Ayatollah asking the Ayatollah to talk to him. I mean this is absurd. Writing a letter to the Ayatollah! It’s like writing a letter to Hitler. It’s nuts.”

Mr. Giuliani appears to be referring to a secret letter that the president allegedly to the Iranian leader calling for talks. Obama officials denied the existence of such a letter.

“Instead what he should  be doing is convincing the Iranians that he is serious, that if he had to he would bomb the hell out of them,” Mr. Giuliani continued. “And they should believe this. The best way he is going to avoid bombing them is convincing them in their heads he is capable of bombing them.”

Mr. Giuliani continued with some high-pitched schoolyard mocking of the president, the kind of which is nearly impossible to render into print and must be seen to be understood.

    Go Rudy!!!!
    101% right.
I can’t figure out if Obama is purposely selling out America or is just a weakling.

If Rudy is so gun-ho for war, then lest strap him to one of the bombs.

What’s “absurd” is the idea that “bomb[ing] the hell out of” Iran would be productive. All the analyses I’ve seen say that bombing would delay their program for a couple of years. That’s all. So what’s the point?

Moreover, bombing would rally Iranians around the present regime, strengthening them. And it risks a wider conflagration in the region. Have the “bomb Iran” crowd really thought this through?

By the way, Israel does have a nuclear deterrent of its own, last time I checked….
