From his Facebook posts, Brooklyn Councilman Charles Barron appears quite confident indeed about his recently launched Congressional campaign, even though it looks to be a difficult three-way slog against both the incumbent, Ed Towns, and Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries.

A post earlier today announced, "Change is inevitable. Lead, follow or get out of the way. OUR VICTORY IS CERTAIN! HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Such confidence is hardly surprising from a candidate who announced his campaign by assuring his supporters, "Remember the struggle may be long, but the victory is certain." Although a single campaign-related post didn't necessarily imply victory was guaranteed, modestly stating, "Our campaign is in full gear. WE NEED YOU FOR THE VICTORY! STRAIGHT AHEAD," a later post made again clear that Councilman Barron's victory is surely coming: "With your support we will win!"

Councilman Barron is well known for making bombastic and bold statements, and he has never lacked electoral confidence.  In addition to running against Towns for this same Congressional seat in 2006, he unsuccessfully challenged the politically dominating Andrew Cuomo for Governor in 2010.
