Texas Governor Rick Perry has released a new campaign commercial in which he promises to end “liberal attacks on our religious heritage” including keeping Christmas out of schools and allowing gays to infiltrate the military. ”As President, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion,” Governor Perry says in the ad.
The 30-second TV ad, entitled “Strong,” begins with Governor Perry standing in a forest declaring “there’s something wrong in this country.”
“I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school,” Governor Perry says.
Governor Perry’s campaign announced the new commercial with a press release outlining examples of Obama Administration’s ungodly attacks.
“From refusing the protect [sic] the Defense of Marriage Act in court to mandating abortion and other ‘health’ practices over the objections of church-affiliated hospitals, the Obama Administration is waging a full scale assault on Christians and people of faith,” Perry campaign communications director Ray Sullivan said.
