Mayor Bloomberg has a starring role in a new clip from Taiwanese meme factory Next Media Animation inspired by our post about a speech where he referred to the NYPD as “my own army.” The artistic geniuses at NMA created a 30 second clip that features a cartoon version of Mayor Bloomberg wearing a military helmet and playing with a toy helicopter.

In the speech, Mayor Bloomberg explained why governing the Big Apple is a pretty big deal.

“I have my own army in the NYPD, which is the seventh biggest army in the world. I have my own State Department, much to Foggy Bottom’s annoyance. We have the United Nations in New York, and so we have an entree into the diplomatic world that Washington does not have,” Mayor Bloomberg said.

NMA informed the Politicker of their newest masterpiece via an email from their marketing and public relations associate, Jenna Manula.

“Greetings from Next Media Animation!! Your story titled “Mayor Bloomberg: ‘I Have My Own Army’” has been animated by us!!” Ms. Manula wrote.

Ms. Manula said the video is part of a new NMA venture called Big Apple Daily TV “that will feature all the latest animated news from NYC.” Based on the quality of this offering, we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
