Velvet Underground rocker Lou Reed will be on hand Saturday when protesters mark the third month of the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations with a rally at Canal Street and Sixth Avenue. Mr. Reed is no newcomer to the Occupy Wall Street protests. He joined composer Phillip Glass at an Occupy event held outside Lincoln Center earlier this month.

Representatives for Mr. Reed's management company, Esther Creative Group, confirmed he will be appearing at Saturday's protest, but he'll be making a speech rather than rocking out.

"I don't believe he'll be playing any songs," said an ECG staffer.

Saturday's rally, dubbed "Occupation 2.0," is being held to protest the eviction of Occupy encampments around the country and to urge Trinity Church to allow demonstrators to set up shop in a vacant lot the church owns on Canal Street.
