The latest accusation against Herman Cain has nothing to do with sexual harassment. A conservative newspaper in New Hampshire, the Union Leader, is up in arms after Mr. Cain allegedly cancelled an interview with them. According to the Union Leader, Mr. Cain backed out of his hour-and-a-half talk with the paper's editorial board "a few hours" after footage of him stumbling his way through a similar interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel went viral. Mr. Cain's campaign says the paper cancelled the interview on them.

Union Leader Publisher Joseph McQuaid said the Cain campaign first contacted the paper to call off plans to have C-SPAN tape the interview. Mr. McQuaid said they then asked to cut the interview down to 20 minutes, which he found unacceptable.

“We had an hour-long interview scheduled. They, in effect, canceled that, saying it could only be 20," Mr. McQuaid said.

Mr. Cain's campaign spokesperson, J.D. Gordon, said he thought 20 minutes was more than enough time for the Union Leader.

“Videos are typically used for television, and it's a newspaper. We decided we didn't want to do the video,” Gordon said.

"Twenty minutes was enough to address the issues," Mr. Gordon said. “We only give other newspapers 10 minutes."

Mr. Gordon said the paper cancelled on them and chalked the situation up to a "miscommunication."

“We hope we'll have an opportunity to reschedule when we return to New Hampshire," Mr. Gordon said.

Based on his quotes that appeared in a Union Leader article about the incident, Mr. McQuaid doesn't seem to care too much about setting up another opportunity to talk with Mr. Cain.

"I don't think he's going anywhere from here at this point, anyway,” Mr. McQuaid said.
