We’ve been alerted by a tipster that Occupy Wall Street protesters (who still exist, even if their movement has become decentralized) will be gathering at Bryant Park at 6:00 p.m. tonight to march to the Sheraton where President Barack Obama is holding a fundraising dinner.
Fred Dicker was having some technical problems on his radio show this morning as he tried to get Andrew Cuomo on the line. On air, he started complaining about the technical team over at Talk 1300, until someone got on the line and told him to cool it.
Eventually, Gov. Cuomo did emerge on the other side of the line, and promptly tried to assure the radio host that he had been patiently waiting all along.
Apparently, Hydrofracking makes Hulk mad. Mark Ruffalo, who’s set to play the famous green superhero strongman in the “Avengers” movie due out next May, was among the celebrities and politicians who turned out to show their opposition to the controversial natural gas drilling technique today. Mr. Ruffalo appeared along with Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, actress Debra Winger, State Senator Daniel Squadron and others at an anti-fracking press conference ahead of the Department of Environmental Conservation’s hearing to review regulations for hydrofracking, which is popular shorthand for hydraulic fracturing.
