A representative from the Masbia Soup Kitchen sent out a release this morning entitled “Mayoral hopeful Scott Stringer looking to woo Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn — dicing vegetables for the two 80 gallon pots of soup.”
Needless to say, it will probably take more than yummy soup to sway such a sizeable bloc of voters to pull the lever for Stringer, but it is a necessary step on the road to 2013.
More from the release below:
2013 New York City Mayoral hopeful and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, will be making the rounds in the Orthodox Jewish community Monday, beginning at Masbia Kosher soup kitchen on Coney Island Avenue. Stringer will start the day before 9am wearing a chef’s hat, dicing vegetables for the two 80 gallon pots of soup and seasoning the chicken for the 500 meals to be served to the hungry that night out of four Masbia sites throughout the city. He will spend the rest of the day meeting with leaders of various Hassidic sects in Williamsburg.
