Want more proof that Rick Perry is the front-runner for the G.O.P. nomination?
Today Texas Congressman Ron Paul unveiled a new ad that whacks his home-state governor for supporting Al Gore in the 1988 presidential election, and contrasts that with Paul’s own early support of Ronald Reagan.
“After Reagan, Sen. Al Gore ran for president pledging to raise taxes and increase spending,” the ad says. “Rick Perry helped lead Al Gore’s campaign to undo the Reagan revolution.”
The ad, entitled, “Trust” also notes that Mr. Reagan, like Mr. Paul, was viewed as a long shot at one point as well.
The ad is slated to air in early-voting states New Hampshire and Iowa, and raises two questions: 1) Is there room for two Texans in the G.O.P. field? and 2). Is Al Gore such a G.O.P. bogeyman that support for his ill-fated president campaign two decades ago?

LMAO! Has Congressman Paul forgot what he was doing in 1988? As I recall in 1988 Rep. Paul was calling President Reagan a failure. He left the Republican Party and ran as a 3rd party Libertarian Candidate for president.
For Ron Paul to be running an add like this critizing what Rick Perry was doing in 1988 takes a lot of chutzpah!
I read the letter at The Iowa Republican that the Perry folks are trying to refute Paul’s ad with. After reading it, now I’m seriously consider Paul.
