ELECTION DAY!

Israeli Flags at Turner Election Night Headquarters Under Height-Related Siege

Ten minutes ago, from NY1 reporter Grace Ruah, at the Bob Turner election night headquarters:

An Israeli flag was on stage (next to American flag), but his campaign manager just pulled it off.

Six minutes later:

Israeli flag back up on stage. Turner campaign manager says the Israeli flag needed to be same height as American flag.

Finally:

Flag update from Turner hq. USA on left. Israel on right. They are the same height. #flagprotocol

Only two more hours of this*.

Give or take**.

*This reminds Politicker of that quote from Mother Night about how one should concern themselves with what one pretends to be less they actually become it. Grace Ruah, we’re talking to you.

**By which we mean, “If you think the last you’re hearing of this is after the results come in, let us assure you, outside of our reportorial capacity and strictly in a speculative one, you are dreadfully, sadly mistaken.

David won’t be back for a few weeks. Until then, you have in myself someone whose sole ambition in life is to meet the high standards of anonymous internet commenters. May we both emerge from this journey together enriched.

Why are most commentators incredibly dumb–or deceitful? The explanation for Turner’s victory is obvious and does not require a rocket scientist mind. In the first Sienna poll that showed Weprin up by 6, Turner only had 36 percent iof the Jewish vote. In the last PPP poll showing Turner up by 6, he had 56 percent of the Jewish vote!!!!!! In less than 30 days, a 20% increase in one ethnic group?  Unbelievable!!! Why?

Because once it became well known Turner supported traditional marriage while Weprin voted for the NY Law, the passions of those against gay-marriage were aroused—especially among Orthodox Jews whose rabbis as well as respected assemblyman Dov Hiken have come out publicly against Weprin, and have been cajoling Religious Jews to come out and vote. The anti-Obama and Israel issues were known at the outset, and while not trivial were and are not important enough to get voters out, as most know a congressman especially in a district which is supposed to go bye bye ain’t gonna do much.

But fear and enragement that the LGBT locomotive will REPEAL the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was more than enough to get people to the polls and elect a congressman who will say “Nay”and they came out in bunches and carriedTurner to victory.

State Senator Ruben Diaz, the “Let the People Vote” man–although I am unaware of any active campaigning for Turner–will be pleased. The people VOTED in the 9th CD and overwhelmingly showed they were against same-sex marriage by electing a Republican in a district in which 196,000 voters are Registered Democrats and only 62,000 Registered Republicans.

TIME magazine not withstanding (did you see how it shrunk), God is NOT dead, but is exposing the wicked one by one and paying back those like Weprin who committed 2 sins. (1) He voted to sanctify what is an abomination to God and (2) worse, as a Religious Jew purporting to honor Scripture, he acted the hypocrite for his own personal agenda. His humiliation in losing is deserved, and he will feel unow feel uncomfortable in Orthodox settings. But we all screw up and otherwise, he seems a decent man. If Weprin sincerely and publicly recants his vote for gay-marriage and moves on, God will forgive him, his people will forgive him, and he can make a comeback in the political arena to serve the public.  As the Psalmest states,
“It is better to depend upon the Lord Than to trust in man. It is better to depend upon the Lord                          Than to trust in royalty. (i.e. Democratic Bosses or Big Shots)” As they are here today but gone tomorrow.
