A reader passes along the follow letter from Manhattan Democratic chairman Keith Wright, urging members of the local county party to cross the river (a big ask for Manhattanites) to help get out the vote for David Weprin the closing days of the Congressional race between Weprin and Bob Turner.

Dear New York County Democrats, 

The Special Election for the 9th Congressional District’s open seat is quickly advancing upon us.  Democratic candidate David Weprin has been making waves in recent weeks - recently racking up endorsements from Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, and Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, among others.

While high profile endorsements are certainly important, the effectiveness of sheer manpower from seasoned Democrats can never be discounted.  In order to win election on Tuesday, September 13th, David is going to need your help.  Voters in Brooklyn and Queens need to be made aware of this special election and the importance of this open seat.

I ask you that you please take the time between now and September 13th to volunteer for David’s campaign.  Whether it’s assisting with the phones, distributing campaign literature, or otherwise pounding the pavement, David’s campaign needs your support in these critical weeks leading up to the election.
