Dave Arnold had one of the toughest jobs in politics as Anthony Weiner’s spokesman, but that gig got a hell of a lot more difficult when the boss was busted for sending photos of his genitalia out to online correspondents then lied about it.
Well, it appears as if Arnold’s efforts have been rewarded, as he has just landed a gig at the PR firm the MWW Group.
From the release:
Arnold brings several years of high-level political communications and media relations experience to MWW Group. From national healthcare reform to the recent budget battles in Congress, Arnold helped aggressively promote Weiner’s numerous legislative and policy priorities in local, national and international media, and helped transition him from a locally-known politician to one of the most high-profile members of Congress, prior to Weiner’s resignation earlier this year.
“Dave’s experience in American politics and his range of expertise from media relations to digital and social media will be a great asset to MWW’s clients in all industries,” said Michael W. Kempner, president and CEO of MWW Group. “With his unique perspective, Dave will help our corporate and consumer clients better navigate the political and media landscape to ensure brands maintain relevance in the split-second news cycle.”
In his new role, Arnold will counsel MWW Group clients across a range of verticals on the strategic use of media relations. He will focus particularly on MWW Group’s award-winning corporate communications and public affairs practices, which both deliver deep expertise and industry knowledge that is backed by some of the strongest media and political relationships in the industry. Arnold will be based in the firm’s New York City office.
Prior to working with Weiner, Arnold worked on the Public Advocate campaign of Eric Gioia. He now, at least, has his Sunday mornings back.
