In an email, Ellner said:

As Gov. Cuomo has made clear, the point here is not to have a vote; the point is to win a vote. That's what all of our supporters including the New York Times, Mayor Bloomberg and a vast majority of New Yorkers are pushing for this Legislaitve session.

Cuomo told Fred Dicker this morning that--contrary to what the Times' implied--advocates are with him on not having a vote unless they can pass a bill.
