A group that is supporting Republican congressional candidate Jane Corwin emailed supporters today to tout their candidate’s latest endorsement, and, additionally, offered them “a bonus gift.”
“Proof positive that Obama’s new birth certificate is a fake.”
The statement links back to a nearly-8 minute youtube video claiming the birth certificate was doctored on Adobe.
The email was sent by Tea New York co-founder Jul Thompson, who told me she hasn’t raised the birther issue with Corwin, and it’s not a litmus test for the group’s support. Thompson told me her group is backing Corwin because of her views on a limited constitutional powers.
“We just like her position on the economy. She’s very pro business,” Thompson told me.

We endorsed Corwin on April 7th, and actually there is a whole lot more we like about her, as noted in today’s press release:
“…
She is dedicated to the
principles of small, fiscally accountable and constitutionally limited
government, and is committed to easing burdensome taxing and regulation
placed upon businesses. Mrs. Corwin opposes Cap and Trade, Obamacare
and TARP bailouts, and she understands that a healthy private sector is
the primary engine that drives a sound economy, and the foundation upon
which jobs are created.”
